Accounting is founded by Friar Luca Paciolo and was first published in 1494. It became influential as a profession in England in the mid-1800s. in that location are laws which are enacted in the year 1913 and 1917 to ensure proper tax accounting. (Wilcox & San Miguel, 1980) Accounting, it is the systematic and comprehensive recording of financial transactions pertaining to a business. Accounting also refers to the process of summarizing, analysing and reporting these transactions. The financial statements that summarize a large companys operations, financial position and cash flows over a particular period are a concise summary of hundreds of thousands of financial transactions it may have entered into over this period. Accounting is one of the key functions for almost any business it may be handled by a bookkeeper and accountant at small firms or by sizable finance departments with dozens of employees at larger companies (investopedia.com). A Glimpse Into the World of The Black CatThose who have read any of Edgar Allan Poes short stories know that most of them ar ample of suspense and mystery and that they efflict a feeling of horror and shock upon the reader.Poe studies the mind, and is conscious of the abnormalities of his narrators and he does not condone the intellectual expedient through which they strive, only overly earnestly, to justify themselves. He enters the field of the starkly, almost clinically realistic investigation of men who, although they may feel uneasy about their mental states when their tension lets up, are too far gone to understand their mania, let alone to control it (Gargano 171). His stories usually have a horrible murder theme in which on that point is a obsessive narrator and they follow the development of the theme step by step with a realism that, barring with genius, might case ahistory from the twentieth-century psychiatry. This could not be presented more clearly than in The Blac k Cat. Those who may deny realism to Poe suffernot be very familiar with our daily newspapers, which sporadically carry true stories of murders committed under just abnormal psychological pressures as those described in The Black Cat (Buranelli 76). This story begins with the narrator ,who is about to be hung, confessing what he has done in some type ofrepention for his soul. The narrator step by step describes how he began drinking and then to neglect his dearly high-priced cat and his wife. One day when he is maddened by the actions of thecat, he cuts out its eye and later lands the cat by hanging it. After his signaling burns down and he has lost all he owned he finds a new cat resembling all to well the first. One day while workingwith his wife in the cellar he is nearly tripped down the stairs by the cat, he then picks up an axe and tries to kill it but his swing is intercepted by his wife and he instead strikes her and kills herinstantly. He conceals the body but then whe n the police come, he in a pestiferous manner taps the wall in which she is buried and reveals to the police what he has done(Poe). In Edgar Allan Poes The Black Cat, his use of point of view, symbolism, foreshadowing, and theme all combine with what he calls a series of mere household events to show how the narrator is driven into madness (Poe 1).Tol... ...uld have not got the full effect that Poe wastrying to convey, which is that just about anyone can be driven into madness and that the narrator in this story is not very different from any other person. This program is part of the PBS series American Experience. In this episode, a critical eye is cast on the early efforts by Congress to "civilize" Native Americans. This homogenization process required the removal of Native American children from their homes and placing them in special Indian schools. coerce to stay for years at a time without returning home, children were required to eschew their own language and culture and learn instead the ways of the white man. Archival photographs and clips, newspaper accounts, journals, personal recollections, and commentary by historians relate the particulars of this era in American History and its ultimate demise. Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie execute      In 1875, Captain Richard Pratt began an ambitious experiment that involved teaching Indians in Florida to read and write English, putting them in uniforms and drilling them like soldiers. "Kill the Indian and save the man," was Pratts motto. Wi th the blessing of Congress, Pratt expanded his program by establishing the Carlisle School for Indian Students. Native Americans who attended these schools help tell the story of an experiment gone drear and its consequences for a generation of Indians. In 1875, Captain Richard Pratt escorted 72 Indian warriors suspected of murdering white settlers to Fort Marion in St. Augustine, Florida. Once there, Pratt began an ambitious experiment which involved teaching the Indians to read and wri te English, putting them in uniforms and drilling them like soldiers. "Kill the Indian and save the man," was Pratts motto.      News of Pratts experiment spread. With the blessing of Congress, Pratt expanded his program by establishing the Carlisle School for Indian Students to continue his "civilizing" mission. Although liberal policy for the times, Pratts school was a form of cultural genocide. The schools continued into the 30s until administrators saw that the promised opportunities for Indian students would not materialize, threat they would not become "imitation white men." Native Americans who attended the schools help tell the story of a humanist experiment gone bad, and its consequences for a generation of snatch the tragic, long-term consequences of attempts to "civilize" Native Americans in the 1870s at the Carlisle School for Indians.
